Very frustrating! My respect for Mozilla has fallen to the level of Microsoft. I obviously don't know what the heck is going on... it took me a few months to find the backdoor that was installed via the Plugin (essentially) its just a remote control. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1026802?page=2

After enjoying a few days of surfing the web without getting booted offline, I did install an unknown version of Flash with no further problems. Adobe Flash Player Not Responding The only thing I would add is you must download all vo v9 before you can instal the one you need. I won't be surprised if Apple blocks the current version of Shockwave, as they have done with vulnerable versions of Flash and Java in the past, but don't wait for that I found the site http://kb.mozillazine.org/Macromedia_Flash which had a number of ideas and recommendations.

I'm looking into other possibilities with extensions--it was suggested that Real Player has issues with Shockwave Flash, but I don't have Real Player, just VLC.
